Hey, and thanks for reading! The M1 and M2 processors are well know for energy saving, which means that they will never get as hot as intel processors. The Macbook Air (M1 and M2) has no fan, so apple is basically assuming they dont need it. The MacBook pro 14 has 2 fans (with M1 pro processor). I am not sure if this laptop really needs it, but with this settings the laptop will not be hot unless you push it for the limit. About choosing between Air line and Pro 14 line, i would go for Macbook pro 14. You will get a better processor, better screen, better sound, better CPU and GPU. And if you chose to upgrade a Macbook air with 512gb and 16gb ram the price will be very closer. I will buy a Macbook pro 14 for myself very soon.
