How To Stay Motivated While Working Alone
The Thoughts and Mind Games that Help Me to Stay Motivated
Much of my work is individual work, which requires only my attention from its conception to the final or almost final result. Part of that work includes creative work (like writing Medium articles), or research and data analysis work where I usually take a dataset and do my analysis with no specific end goal, but with the challenge of trying to find something interesting and meaningful. Sometimes, my job is to take data that seemed to be of no use to anyone else and find an important use for that data. Collaborations begin only if some important pattern is discovered, hence the need to discuss the results. This type of task poses an enormous challenge, as much of the work can go nowhere until I finally manage to find an important insight.
