I Lost all my Cryptocurrency Savings…

And I have no expectations of getting my money back in the future

At the beginning of 2022, I decided to invest some money in cryptocurrency. It was the first time I was investing in crypto, I have no previous experience, and I barely understand how crypto works. So I meet all the necessary criteria to fail!

My expectation of ROI

Cryptocurrencies are an extremely volatile value, they are not based on a "real" or tangible financial structure or business and depend purely and simply on the demand/supply relationship. In other words, speculation. This description alone would suffice to steer any reasonable investor away from this type of investment. However, cryptocurrencies also offer some advantages in terms of transactions. The fact that they are not controlled by a central body, but by a set/pairs of miners that validate and record all transactions and the relative security and confidentiality offered are pointed out as positive points (however, I don’t need confidentiality as I don’t have any illegal activity in mind).

When we make an investment, we obviously expect a return. Cryptocurrencies have been subject to several fluctuations in recent years, but in recent months they have shown a relatively stable growth trend, so I thought it would be…
