Tech and Gadget Updates 2022— Part 1

January to March 2022

If you have read my article “My List of Tech and Gadgets to Buy in 2022 — Worths 4K” you know that I am looking to update some of my Gadgets this year. In the first trimester I made 3 new acquisitions, two were in my list, another one was an unexpected (but good) purchase. So let’s find more about my choices!

Earbuds

The first item in this update is a new earbuds pack. In my original list my first choice was the Sony WF-1000XM4, that have excellent reviews, and because I already have a pair of Sony WH-1000XM3 that I absolutely love. However, I saw that the Sony WF-c500 are now with a super low price of 59 euros, and I give up on my original choice for the extra bucks in my bank account (Sony WF-1000XM4 price is about 200 euros).

I specifically chose this colour. In contrast to the pricier WF-1000XM4, these mid range WF-c500 have several colour options that can make them more appealing for people like me who like some personalisation. Of course of you like discretion, the classical black option is available.

In terms of sound quality, and as expected, they sound way better than my cheap Xiaomi buds, but far from the sound of my other headphones models, including Sony WH-1000XM3 (I know I cannot compare earbuds with my over ear headphones, but just to give you an idea). The WF-c500 are a little bit “bassy” for my taste, but I can control this aspect with the equaliser provided with the Sony headphones application for Android. Clarity is good, but not very good, I don’t have the same sound separation as with other listening devices.

These earbuds do not have noise cancelling, which is a downside. However, as they are in ear, they adjust very well with my ears, and provide some level of noise isolation, even without noise cancelling capabilities.
